june fishing report

fishing has been about as good as it gets this june.been on eagle lake, lac suel, cedar and cliff lakes.fishing for the most part was very shallow fishing with just now fish are heading deeper with some areas having fish to 30 ft already.jigging has been been good with 1/16-1/8 with minnows doing the best with some casting crank baits also worked very well.weather has been pretty bad bad most of the month with what seems awful windy most days.suspect july will follow suite with great fishing and going a bit deeper.getting close to my favourite way to fish nd that's lindy rigging.had a chance to go on ans fly out to upper wapesi with clarkes outposts and fished with the outdoor junkies and that was a awesome 2 1/2 .if your interested in a flyout check it out.we caught a lot of walleyes and pike in that short time.great cabin and equipment.

february ice fishing

well with the warm spells we have had it was time to take advantage of it.Got out a few times with some friends and some some good success.Have been out a few times on Cedar Lake for crappies and its been a blast.Fast and furious is how I would describe it.Have been out for my favourite winter fish the lake trout. They have been easy to catch and tough also but always seem to get some for a good meal.As of right now with the warm melt we had plus a day of monsoon rains the snow pack is gone and are left with solid ice.Snowmobile is sitting in the yard now and atvs are the mode of travel although some fisherman are using trucks.iam not a fan of that,I do like using my toys and just scary thinking about hitting a soft spot with a truck,Just notworth it to me.Heres some pics of our adventures.

Hunting season 2016

Although some fishing oppurtunities are still available the weather and the call for hunting is taking over.Have some baits out for a couple of weeks and some deer are starting to show up.Still plenty of wild forage left in the woods for them but they do like to pick at the corn and alfalfa ive pu out for them.lots of does and twin fawns showing up.Couple of bucks are starting to show up also.Nothing really big yet but keep hoping they will show up soon. The ones that are coming to the bait are at night as usual. But hopefully the rut will make them make the mistake of showing up through the day time. Will be updating as often as I can as to the hunting season goes.
